Grace Minerva Weigle was born on 28 November 1919 at Linden, Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,3,2 She was the daughter of Judson Fulmore Weigle and Annie Marina Sholder.1,2,4 Grace Minerva Weigle married, at age 26, Phillip Clyde Bower, age 34, son of George J. Bower and Laura E. Kinley, on Tuesday, 2 July 1946.1,2 Grace Minerva Weigle died on 17 August 2002 at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 82 years, 8 months and 20 days.3,2,4 She was buried on 21 August 2002 in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Drue A. Sherman.2
Grace Minerva Weigle appeared on the census of 3 January 1920 in the household of Judson Fulmore Weigle and Annie Marina Sholder at Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Grace Minerva Weigle and Phillip Clyde Bower never had any children.1 Grace Minerva Weigle retired in 1970 as the owner of Grace's Beauty Shop.2 She was widowed at age 74 by the death of Phillip on 30 March 1994.5,2 Her obituary was published on 19 August 2002 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Grace M. Bower, 82, of 2140 Warrensville Road, Montoursville, formerly of the 900 block of High Street, died on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, in Valley View Nursing Center following a lengthy illness. Her husband, Philip C. Bower, died on March 30, 1994.
She was a member of Pine Street United Methodist Church and the Old Lycoming Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She owned and operated Grace's Beauty Shop until her retirement in 1970 and was an avid bingo player.
She was born on Nov. 28, 1919, in Linden a daughter of Judson F. and A. Marina Sholder Weigle.
Surviving is a brother, Ralph H. Weigle of Williamsport, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Fry.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., with Rev. Drue A. Sherman, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Montoursville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will provide the flowers and suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Memorial Fund of Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St., Williamsport PA 17701.2 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Grace's last known residence was Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania.3
