Dorothy Solomon was born circa 1923. She was the daughter of Abe Solomon and Mary Itzkowitz.1 Dorothy Solomon married Harold Sholder, son of Morris Sholder and Gertrude Schechter, circa 1946.1 Dorothy Solomon died circa 5 April 1954. She was buried on 7 April 1954 in the Waldheim (Jewish) Cemetery, located in Cook County, Illinois.1
Her obituary was published on 7 April 1954 in the Chicago Tribune, printed in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Her obituary stated:
Dorothy Sholder, nee Solomon, suddenly, of 2217 E. 68th street, dearly beloved wife of Harold, devoted mother of Iris Ellen, Marc Stuart, and Arnold Jay, loving daughter of Mary Itzkowitz, and the late Abe Solomon, dear sister of Lee Witkoff, fond daughter-in-law of Morris and Gertrude Sholder. Services Wednesday, 2 p.m., at chapel, 3600 W. Roosevelt road. Interment Jewish Waldheim. Family at late residence.1
