Gotthilf Breitling was born on 8 January 1874 at Beresina, Bessarabia, Russia.1 He was the son of Philipp Jacob Breitling and Karolina Strobel.1 Gotthilf Breitling married Katherina B. Degele, daughter of August Gottlieb Degele and Barbara Fritz, in 1903 at Bondville, Red Willow County, Nebraska.2 Gotthilf Breitling died on 26 September 1959 at age 85 years, 8 months and 18 days.1
