Mathaus Breitling was born on 27 March 1801 at Böblingen, Oberamt Böblingen, Schwarzwaldkreis, Württemberg.1 He was the son of Johann Georg Breitling and Rosina Catharina Findel.1 Mathaus Breitling married, at age 30, Dorothea Fredrich, age 26, daughter of Karl Fredrich and Maria Dorothea Fode, on Thursday, 1 September 1831.1 Mathaus Breitling died on 16 December 1856 at Klöstitz, Bessarabia, Akkerman District, Russia, at age 55 years, 8 months and 19 days.1
