Milton Wentz was born on 16 May 1914 at Streeter, Stutsman County, North Dakota.1 He was the son of Peter Wentz Jr. and Louisa Essig.1 Milton Wentz married, at age 19, Ottilia Rau, age 18, daughter of Jacob Rau and Kathrine Hemmerich, on Sunday, 18 March 1934 at Napoleaon, Logan County, North Dakota.1 Milton Wentz died on 30 July 2003 at Beaverton, Washington County, Oregon, at age 89 years, 2 months and 14 days.1
His obituary was published on 4 August 2003 in the local paper, printed in Gackle, Logan County, North Dakota. His obituary stated:
Milton Wentz, 89, Beaverton, Ore., formerly of Gackle, N.D., died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Edgewood Point Assisted Living Center, Beaverton.
Mr. Wentz was born May 16, 1914, southwest of Streeter, N.D., the son of Peter and Louisa (Essig) Wentz. He attended the local rural elementary school and grew up near Streeter. He married Ottilia Rau on March 18, 1934, at rural Napoleon, N.D. They lived near Streeter and farmed from 1934 until he retired from farming in 1958. He was employed by the State Highway Department in road maintenance until he retired in February 1981. They entered Edgewood Vista in Bismarck, N.D., in 2001, and later moved to Beaverton. He as a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Streeter, serving on the building committee; deacon at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, serving as financial secretary, and a member of Germans from Russia.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Marlene Wagner, Bismarck, Marcella (Lyle) Reese, Tigard, Ore., and Lucille (Alvin) Kuhn, McMinnville, Ore; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, five brothers and a son-in-law.
Services: 11 a.m. today, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Gackle, with the Rev. Konrad Koosman officiating. Arrangements by Haut Funeral Homes, Gackle.
Burial: Streeter Lutheran Cemetery, Streeter.1
