     Esther Ann Hoffa was born on 25 March 1883 at Dushore, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania.3,4,5,6 She was the daughter of Wilson Benjamin Hoffa and Charlotte Mahaffey.1,2 Esther Ann Hoffa was baptized, at age 5 years, 10 months and 9 days, on Sunday, 3 February 1889 at Zion Lutheran Church, Dushore, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. She married, at age 29, Irvin Hafer, age 29, son of Thomas C. Hafer and Annie [—?—], on Wednesday, 27 March 1912 at Newberry, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 Esther Ann Hoffa died on 29 May 1974 at Williamsport RD 2, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 91 years, 2 months and 4 days.2,3,4,1 She was buried on 1 June 1974 in the Buchanan Baptist Church Cemetery, located in Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Clifford A. Stierle.4,2
     Esther Ann Hoffa and Irvin Hafer appeared on the census of 3 January 1920 at Williamsport, 7th Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Esther Ann Hoffa and Irvin Hafer appeared on the census of 26 April 1930 at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. As of October 1939, Esther Ann Hoffa and Irvin Hafer lived at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She was widowed at age 63 by the death of Irvin on 14 September 1946.7 Her obituary was published on 30 May 1974 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

     Mrs. Esther A. Hafer, 91, of Williamsport RD 2, died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 1974, at her home. She was the widow of Irvin Hafer.

     She was born in Dushore on March 25, 1883, a daughter of Wilson and Charlotte Mahaffey Hoffa.

     Mrs. Hafer was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

     Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Clarence Cohick, with whom she lived; two sons, Ralph, of this city, and John, of Linden RD 2, a brother Paul Hoffa, of Dushore, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

     The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Knight's, 1914 Memorial Avenue, with the Rev. Clifford A. Stierle Jr., her pastor officiating. Burial will be in Buchanan Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.2
According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Esther's last known residence was Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3
