She was widowed at age 63 by the death of Dave on 19 December 1974.1,3 Cousin Bertha made the best Peanut Butter Pie I have ever eaten. My children sure did like it. I have never heard of a pie like that. I met her the first time at her house in April of 1982. We liked each other right from the start. My children and I used to go and visit her all the time. Then I told her I would take her to meet her other cousins, My mom Lucille and my Aunt Rosie. They are first cousins to Bertha. Bertha loved to go fishing and take trips. We lost contact when she moved to Kansas, then the next thing I knew she had died. She is surley missed. I still think about that Peanut Butter Pie. She was the nicest person to anyone she met. She helped me on the Madison side of the family. Her mother was a Madison and so was my mother. Love You Cousin Bertha, Your Cousin Linda.1
