Max Sholder and Minnie Schechter appeared on the census of 9 January 1920 at Chicago, 34th Ward, Cook County, Illinois. His obituary was published on 4 April 1943 in the Chicago Tribune, printed in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. His obituary stated:
Max Sholder, beloved husband of Minnie, fond father of Clara, Ruth, Seymour, and Bernice, brother of Morris and Charles Sholder. Funeral Monday, 11:30 a.m., at chapel, 3654 W. Roosevelt road. Burial Ind. Austrian Aid Society cemetery, Waldheim.1
