     Thomas Allen Kelchner was born on 20 April 1961 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2,3,4 He was the son of Norman E. Kelchner and Mary Louise Alter.2,1,5,6 Thomas Allen Kelchner married Lisa R. Baskin circa 1985.2 Thomas Allen Kelchner died on 17 August 2006 at age 45 years, 3 months and 28 days.2,3,4 A memorial service for Thomas Allen Kelchner was held at Messiah Lutheran Church, South Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, on 23 August 2006 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Robert L. Driesen and Reverend Maurice C. Frontz officiating. A celebration of life luncheon was held following the service in Luther Hall at Messiah Lutheran Church.2
     Thomas Allen Kelchner graduated in 1979 from Williamsport Area High School, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 He graduated in 1983 from Kutztown State College, located in Kutztown, Berks County, Pennsylvania.2 He graduated in 1987 from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, located in Kutztown, Berks County, Pennsylvania.2

     An obituary on 7 October 1998 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, for Norman E. Kelchner listed Thomas Allen as his son.1 His obituary was published on 19 August 2006 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Thomas Allen Kelchner, 45, of South Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Aug. 17, 2006, after a brief illness.

     Born April 20, 1961, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Norman E. Kelchner, Sr. and Mary Lou Alter Kelchner of Williamsport.

     He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, South Williamsport, where he served as usher and lay assistant.

     A 1979 Williamsport High School graduate, he also held a 1983 B.S. in Art Education and a Masters of Education in 1987 from Kutztown University. He was employed by the Williamsport Area School District where he taught Art and was Supervisor for K-12 Art. In 2000, he was recognized as a National Educator by the Milken Foundation. From 2003-2004 he was president of the Pennsylvania Art Education Association.

     Surviving is his wife of 21 years, the former Lisa R. Baskin and his daughter Emily, at home. Also surviving are his mother, siblings Norman E. Jr. (Debbie), Steve (Bobby Jo), David, Melissa, three nieces and three nephews.

     In place of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to W.A.S.D. Education Foundation for the Thomas Kelchner Scholarship Fund, 201 West Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701; or to Providence Foundation - Gatehouse Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701; or to Messiah Lutheran Church, 324 S. Howard Street, South Williamsport, PA 17702.

     A memorial service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 23, at 11 a.m. with his pastors, Robert L. Driesen and Maurice C. Frontz, III officiating. A celebration of life luncheon will be held following the service in Luther Hall at Messiah Lutheran Church.2
