Perry Larue Fenderson was born on 1 February 1919 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2,4 He was the son of Robert Bruce Fenderson and Daisy Myrtle Sholder.1,2,3,4 Perry Larue Fenderson married, at age 20, Grace Ellen Vanhorn on Saturday, 1 July 1939.1,2,4 Perry Larue Fenderson died on 28 January 2010 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 90 years, 11 months and 27 days.4 He was buried on 30 January 2010 in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend David P. McCullough.4
Perry Larue was listed in the obituary for Robert Bruce Fenderson, on 7 February 1972 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, as his son.3 His obituary was published on 29 January 2010 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Perry L. Fenderson, Sr., 90 of 141 Benjamin Rd., Cogan Station passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 at the Williamsport Hospital.
He was born Feb. 1, 1919 in Williamsport, a son of Bruce and Myrtle Shoulder [Sholder] Fenderson.
Perry retired from Industrial Fabrications and had been a welding instructor at W.A.C.C. He was an Army veteran of WWII receiving the Purple Heart, and was a member of the Eugene Grafius American Legion Post # 104 in Montoursville. He enjoyed fishing and playing music. On July 1, 2009 he celebrated his 70th wedding anniversary with his wife, the former Grace E. VanHorn.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons, Perry L. Jr. (Jeannie) and Steven E. (Darcy), both of Cogan Station; two grandchildren, Heather Jackson, Sean; and a great-granddaughter, Delaney.
He was predeceased by a brother Richard; a sister, Ruby Fullmer; a grandson Kevin; and a great-granddaughter, Makenzie.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville with the Rev. David P. McCullough officiating. Internment will follow in the Montoursville Cemetery. There will be no visitation.4
