Charles Edward Hilbrecht was born on 4 July 1915 at Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio.1,2,3 He was the son of Charles Edgar Hilbrecht and Clara B. Ludwig.1 Charles Edward Hilbrecht married, at age 30, Imogene Hollis, age 21, daughter of James Hollis and Effie M. Emrick, on Sunday, 19 May 1946.1,4 Charles Edward Hilbrecht died on 1 December 1993 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio, at age 78 years, 4 months and 27 days.1,2,3,4 He was buried on 3 December 1993 in the Greenlawn Cemetery, located in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend William Turner.1

His obituary was published on 3 December 1993 in the Chillicothe Gazette, printed in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. His obituary stated:
Charles E. Hilbrecht, 78, of Race St., Chillicothe, died 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1993 in Medical Center Hospital, following a short illness.
He was born July 4, 1915 in Chillicothe, the son of Charles E. Hilbrecht, Sr. and Clara Ludwig. On May 19, 1946, he married Imogene Hollis, who survives.
Mr. Hilbrecht was a former employee of Central Pharmacy, retiring in 1969. He was a member of B.P.O.E. No. 52, Chillicothe.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, in Greenlawn Cemetery, with Rev. William Turner officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home.1
