Imogene Hollis was born on 21 October 1924 at Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio.2 She was the daughter of James Hollis and Effie M. Emrick.2 Imogene Hollis married, at age 21, Charles Edward Hilbrecht, age 30, son of Charles Edgar Hilbrecht and Clara B. Ludwig, on Sunday, 19 May 1946.1,2 Imogene Hollis died on 8 November 2009 at Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, at age 85 years and 18 days.2 She was buried in the Greenlawn Cemetery, located in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio.2
The former Imogene Hollis was listed in the obituary of Charles Edward Hilbrecht, on 3 December 1993 in the Chillicothe Gazette, printed in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio, as his wife.1
Her obituary was published sometime in November 2009 in the local paper, printed in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. Her obituary stated:
Imogene H. Hilbrecht, 85, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 in the OSU Medical Center, Columbus following a brief illness. She was born Oct. 21, 1924 in Columbus, the daughter of James and Effie M. (Emrick) Hollis. On May 19, 1946 she married Charles E. Hilbrecht, Jr. who preceded her in death Dec. 1, 1993.
Surviving is a niece, Patricia (Phillip) Croker, Canal Winchester, nephews, George Hollis and Charles Hollis, both of Canal Winchester, James E. (Emelinda) Hollis and Loren (Terry) Hollis, all of Chillicothe, several great nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, Marjory Hollis, Canal Winchester and Laverne Hollis, Chillicothe and special friends May Caplinger, Garnet Taylor and Anna Stout, all of Chillicothe. Her parents and brothers, Jack, George and James, Jr. Hollis preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hilbrecht was a deputy auditor with the Ross County Auditor's Office, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the Ross County Republican Club and was an avid bowler.
Services were entrusted to Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home of Chillicothe, Ohio.2
