Elwood O. Lilley was born on 17 April 1924.1,4 He was the son of Oscar Franklin Lilley and Madeline Mildred Sholder.4 Elwood O. Lilley married, at age 24, Lois E. Flayhart on Monday, 4 October 1948.4,3 Elwood O. Lilley died on 14 February 2000 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 75 years, 9 months and 28 days.1,4 He was buried on 17 February 2000 in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, located in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend David L. Weaver.4
Elwood O. Lilley appeared on the census of 16 April 1930 in the household of Simon Lilley and Alice [—?—] at Williamsport, 2nd Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
The obituary for Harold B. Lilley from in the local paper, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, dated in January 1991 listed Elwood O. Lilley as his brother.5 His obituary was published on 16 February 2000 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
The funeral will be Thursday for Elwood O. Lilley, 75, of 1416 Park Ave., who died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at Williamsport Hospital. He and his wife, the former Lois E. Flayhart, observed their 51st wedding anniversary Oct. 4.
He retired in 1987 as meat manager of A&P stores after 46 years of service. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member and former secretary of Newberry Lions Club. He was a 50-year member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Born here April 17, 1924, he was a son of Oscar F. and Madalen M. Shoulder Lilley [Madeline Sholder].
Surviving, besides his wife, are a daughter, Eileen J. Shearer of Curwensville RR 3; a son, Thomas E. of this city; two brothers, Marlin D. of Cogan Station and Glenn F. of Carlisle; a sister, Dorothy A. Beaver of this city; four grandchildren, Elizabeth A. and Robert E. Shearer and Joshua T. and Heather M. Lilley. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold B.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. at the church, 1427 Memorial Ave., with his pastor, the Rev. David L. Weaver, officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave.4 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Elwood's last known residence was Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
