Maria Katharina Ziegler was born on 14 March 1850.2 She married, at age 17, Philipp Friederich, age 22, son of Philipp Friederich and Regina Flaig, on Sunday, 10 November 1867 at Neu Elft, Bessarabia, Russia.1 Maria Katharina Ziegler died on 6 May 1924 at Kaylor, Hutchinson County, South Dakota, at age 74 years, 1 month and 22 days.2 She was buried in row 2, grave 13, in the Dennewitz Cemetery, located in Hutchinson County, South Dakota.2
She and Wilhelm Ziegler are possibly brother and sister. Maria Katharina Ziegler and Philipp Friederich immigrated on 17 May 1877 to New York City, New York County, New York, aboard the ship "Vanderland" at the age of 27. They left their home in Bessarabia, Russian Empire (Ukraine).1 She was widowed at age 58 by the death of Philipp on 1 November 1908.1
