Melvin L. Fry was born on 13 September 1927 at Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2,3 He was the son of Harry G. Fry and Hazel M. Fulmer.1,2 Melvin L. Fry married, at age 18, Alice Rosetta Weigle, age 20, daughter of Judson Fulmore Weigle and Annie Marina Sholder, on Friday, 8 March 1946.1,2 Melvin L. Fry died on 22 December 2006 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 79 years, 3 months and 9 days.2,3 He was buried on 27 December 2006 in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Donald E. Yorks.2
He became a widower at the age of 69 with the death of Alice on 4 January 1997.1,4,2,5 His obituary was published on 23 December 2006 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

Born Sept. 13, 1927 in Fairfield Twp., he was the son of Harry G. and Hazel M. Fullmer Fry.
He was a member of Farragut United Methodist Church, and retired from the former Riebe Construction Co. where he was a supervisor. He was a member of the Eureka Lodge #335 F&AM; the Williamsport Consistory, and the Zafar Grotto. He was also a member of the N.R.A; was a social member of the Eugene Grafius American Legion Post 104 in Montoursville, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving him is a son, Terry L. (Peggy) Fry of Montoursville; a daughter, Dixie R. (James) Weaver of Montoursville; two brothers, Dale E. Fry of Montoursville and Glenn N. Fry of Tampa, Fla; three grandchildren, Sam Gardner, Seth Fry, and Rebecca Wood, and five great grandchildren.
Predeceasing him was his wife the former Alice R. Weigle who died Jan. 4, 1997.
A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the Montoursville Cemetery with the Rev. Donald E. Yorks, his pastor, officiating. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Farragut United Methodist Church, 45 Rt. 864 Highway, Montoursville, PA 17754. Arrangements are by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.2 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Melvin's last known residence was Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3
