Franklin H. Bartlett was born on 14 July 1911 at Pennsdale, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.4,5 He was the son of Eli C. Bartlett and Caroline Sholder.1 Franklin H. Bartlett married Loie Luella Wright, daughter of Russell Edward Wright and Carrie Elizabeth Eisler, circa 1933.1,2,3 Franklin H. Bartlett died on 11 July 2003 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 91 years, 11 months and 27 days.4,1 He was buried on 13 July 2003 in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, located in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Timothy K. Hartzell.1
Franklin H. Bartlett appeared on the census of 11 April 1930 in the household of William Henry Roller and Edna Viola Bartlett at Williamsport, 1st Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary was published on 12 July 2003 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Franklin H. Bartlett, 91, of 75 Bullet Hill Road, Montoursville, died Thursday, July 11, 2003, at the Williamsport Hospital.
Born July 11, 1911, in Pennsdale, he was the son of Eli and Caroline (Shoulder) [actually Caroline (Sholder)] Bartlett.
From the 1930s through the 1950s, he was the owner / operator of the F. H. Bartlett Ice Company, and retired from the former Westchester Homes in Montoursville. He attended Faith Wesleyan Church in Williamsport and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are two sons, Gary F. (Barbara) and Jack L. (Marysue), both of Muncy; a daughter, Mary Jo (Robert) Hiller of Montoursville; a brother, Clarence P. Bartlett of Montoursville; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the widow of the former Loie L. Wright with whom he was married 66 years, and is also predeceased by two brothers, Floyd and Lester Bartlett, and a sister, Edna Roller.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, 1:30 p.m., at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville, with the Rev. Timothy K. Hartzell, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Saturday from 12:30 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the memorial of Faith Wesleyan Church, 1029 Tucker Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.1
