Benjamin Scholder was born on 16 February 1883 at Sassow, Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, Austro-Hungarian Empire.1,2,3 He was the son of Joseph Scholder and Fanny R. Hoch.2 Benjamin Scholder married, at age 20, Golde Hinde Menkes, daughter of Moshe Leib Menkes and Sara Sosie Werber, on Wednesday, 11 November 1903 at Manhattan, New York County, New York.2 Benjamin Scholder married Jenny [—?—] circa 1921. Benjamin Scholder died on 17 November 1970 at Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, at age 87 years, 9 months and 1 day.1,3 He was buried in Path D2 Left, Gate 11, in the Mount Zion Cemetery, located in Maspeth, Queens County, New York. Tombstone inscription is "beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather." Buried in Congregation First Independent Sassower Sick & Benevolent Society.3

He became a widower at the age of 35 with the death of Golde on 1 April 1918.
