     Willard Edward Tebbs was born on 18 March 1912 at Pitcairn, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.4,2,1 He was the son of Harry Miller Tebbs and Fannie Clark.1,4 Willard Edward Tebbs married, at age 19, Evelyn Caroline Sholder, age 19, daughter of Charles William Sholder and Ida Amelia Lorson, on Sunday, 27 September 1931 at Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland.4,3,1,5 Willard Edward Tebbs died on 4 May 1988 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 76 years, 1 month and 16 days.4,1,2,6 He was buried on 8 May 1988 in the Green Lawn Memorial Park, located in Montgomery, Clinton Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Ivar C. Johnson.7,5 Willard Edward Tebbs has also been reported to have been buried 8 May 1988 in the Woodlawn Cemetery, located in White Deer Hole Valley, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.4
     He was employed by the Williamsport Sun-Gazette between 1929 and 1977 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He retired in 1977 from the Williamsport Sun-Gazette as a machinist and composition room typesetter at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 As of 1988, Willard Edward Tebbs and Evelyn Caroline Sholder lived at 1803 Princeton Avenue, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.1,3 His obituary was published on 5 May 1988 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Willard E. Tebbs, 76, of 1803 Princeton Avenue, died at 4:03 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 1988, at the Williamsport Hospital. He had been taken to the hospital after being stricken at home.

     He retired in 1977 after 48 years with the Sun-Gazette Co., where he worked as a machinist and in the composing room. Mr. Tebbs was a member of the International Typographical Union No. 141.

     He was a charter member of the Evangelical Friends Church, Loyalsock Twp.

     Born March 18, 1912, at Pitcairn, Allegheny County, he was the son of Harry and Fannie Clark Tebbs.

     Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyn C. Sholder; two sons, the Rev. Jack W., of Greensboro, N.C., and Donald E., of Miami, Fla; two brothers, Ralph and Dick, both of this city; a sister, Mrs. Melrose Weaver, of Montoursville, three grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

     Funeral arrangements are being handled by Spitler's, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville.1
His obituary was published on 6 May 1988 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     TEBBS - Willard E. Tebbs, 1803 Princeton Avenue, 10:30 a.m. Monday, Spitler's, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville, with the Rev. Ivar C. Johnson, pastor of Evangelical Friends Church, officiating. Burial in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery RD 2. Visitation 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

     He and his wife, the former Evelyn C. Sholder, observed their 57th wedding anniversary last Sept. 27 [1987].5
According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Willard's last known residence was Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2

     The obituary for Evelyn Caroline Sholder in December 1997 in the local paper, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, listed Willard Edward Tebbs as her deceased husband.3
