     Lois E. Livermore was born on 8 June 1923 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3,5 She was the daughter of Dewey Eckard Livermore and Helen Marie Sholder.3,8,6,7,2 Lois E. Livermore married, at age 23, Clarence H. Brooks, age 23, son of Oscar George Brooks and Laura Elizabeth Alexander, on Saturday, 8 June 1946 at Saint John's Evangelical Church, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend E. J. Bayne.9,3 Lois E. Livermore died on 1 October 1981 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 58 years, 3 months and 23 days.3,5 She was buried on 5 October 1981 in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, located in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Richard Gentzler.3
     The engagement announcement for Lois E. Livermore and Clarence H. Brooks was published circa March 1946 in the local paper, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. This announcement stated:

     BROOKS - LIVERMORE

     Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Livermore, of Williamsport RD 2, have revealed the betrothal of their daughter, Lois E., to Clarence H. Brooks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Brooks, of Williamsport RD 2. The prospective bridegroom is a discharged veteran. The wedding is scheduled for June.8
The marriage announcement for Lois E. Livermore and Clarence H. Brooks was published on 9 June 1946 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. This announcement stated:

     LOIS E. LIVERMORE BECOMES BRIDE IN DOUBLE-RING CHURCH CEREMONY

Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Livermore Wed to Clarence Brooks Last Evening

     In a candlelight ceremony at 8 o'clock last evening, Miss Lois E. Livermore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Livermore, of Williamsport RR 2, became the bride of Clarence H. Brooks. The double-ring service was preformed by the Rev. E. J. Bayne in St. John's Evangelical Church before the altar adorned with white snapdragons and palms. Miss Mabel Updegraff played traditional wedding selections and accompanied Burdell Fessler, soloist.

     Miss Livermore wore a white satin gown fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, long sleeves, and a gathered full skirt terminating in an aisle-wide train. Her long veil with lace insertions fell from a pearl studded tiara. She carried an arm bouquet of calla lilies.

Bridal Party

     Miss Merle E. Sholder, of Voorheesville, N.Y., cousin of the bride, was Miss Livermore's only attendant. She was attired in a gown of aqua nylon made with a tight fitting bodice which buttoned down the back. The dress had three-quarter-length sleeves which ended in ruffles corresponding to the rows of ruffles which formed a bustle effect on the long skirt. Her matching shoulder-length veil was attached to a braided headdress of self material. She carried an arm bouquet of tailsman roses and baby's breath.

     The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Brooks, of Williamsport RD 2, was attended by Joseph F. Taylor, of this city, as best man. Nelson Livermore and Ralph Liddic were ushers.

     A reception for 75 guests was held at the home of the bride's parents following the service. For her wedding trip to New York City, Mrs. Brooks selected a grey-beige wool crepe suit with navy accessories and an orchid corsage. Mr. Brooks recently was discharged from the army.9


     The obituary dated in May 1977 for Donald Alan Brooks from Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, listed Lois E. Livermore as his mother.1 As of 1979, Lois E. Livermore and Clarence H. Brooks lived in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2

     Lois E. was listed in Helen Marie Sholder's obituary in November 1979 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, as her daughter.2 Her obituary was published sometime in October 1981 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

     Mrs. Lois E. Brooks, 58, wife of Clarence H. Brooks, of Proctor Star Route, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 1981, in the Williamsport Hospital, where she had been admitted earlier in the day.

     Born in Williamsport on June 8, 1923, she was a daughter of Dewey and Helen Sholder Livermore.

     Mrs. Brooks was a member of Balls Mills United Methodist Church.

     She and her husband had marked their 35th wedding anniversary in June.

     Surviving, besides her husband, are a brother, Harold Livermore, and a sister, Mrs. Florence E. Williamson, both of Williamsport RD 2, and two grandchildren.

     The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Knight's, 1914 Memorial Avenue, with the Rev. Richard Gentzler, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.3


     The former Lois E. Livermore was listed in the obituary of Clarence H. Brooks, on 24 January 2002 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, as his deceased wife.4

     The obituary for Harold Sholder Livermore on 12 February 2008 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, listed Lois E. Brooks as his deceased sister.6
