Elizabeth Belle Scholder was born on 4 September 1929 at Albuquerque, Bonalillo County, New Mexico.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Frederick W. Scholder Jr. and Velma Alice Eckerman.1,3 Elizabeth Belle Scholder married Ramon M. Munoz circa 1949 at Ely, White Pine County, Nevada.3 Elizabeth Belle Scholder died on 28 December 2001 at Santa Fe, Santa Fe County, New Mexico, at age 72 years, 3 months and 24 days.1,2 She was buried on 2 January 2002 in the Santa Fe National Cemetery, located in Santa Fe, Santa Fe County, New Mexico.1,3

ELIZABETH SCHOLDER MUNOZ - Age 72, died at her home in Santa Fe, Friday, December 28. She was born September 4, 1929 in Albuquerque, NM, the daughter of Frederick (Fritz) W. Scholder and Velma A. Eckerman.
She spent her childhood in Albuquerque and New Laguna Pueblo where she worked in the family business. Mrs. Munoz lived in Topeka, KS, for 30 years where she was a business owner. She also served on the staff of former KS Governor Robert Dooking as correspondence secretary, and later liaison for the governors Mexican American and Indian committee. She was on staff of the Menninger Foundation as director of Menningers Indian mental health program. She was founder and chairman of the board for the Indian Center of Topeka and negotiated the money through housing and urban development to purchase the school for the Indian Center of Topeka. She worked with Ceasar Chavez and Corky Gonzales in Denver, CO, and worked for HUD. She served as a consultant with the Southwestern Cooperative Educational Laboratory. After moving back to NM, she served as the assistant director for the Laguna Pueblo elderly center. She was an accomplished artist.
Mrs. Munoz attended St. Vincent Academy and Harwood girls school in Albuquerque, NM and graduated from Grants High school in Grants, NM. She attended Brigham Young, and Kansas State Universities. After raising her sons, she went back to school attending the College of Santa Fe, and received a double degree, three dimensional, fashion design, museum studies from the Institute of American Indian Arts in 1991.
She married Ramon M. Munoz in Ely, Nevada. He survives her. Other survivors include five sons: Edward Joseph Munoz, Michael Jon Munoz both of Topeka, KS and Ramon M. Munoz Jr., Martin Robert Munoz, and Robert Eckerman Munoz all of Santa Fe, NM; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Santa Fe. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Service times are pending. Arrangements are under the direction of Berardinelli Family Funeral Service 1399 Luisa Street, 984-8600.3 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Elizabeth's last known residence was Santa Fe, Santa Fe County, New Mexico.2
