Charles E. Clear was born in April 1859 at Rochester, Fulton County, Indiana.1 He was the son of Ernest Clear and Nancy Eberhart.1 Charles E. Clear married, at age 35, Caroline Fredricke Scholder, age 30, daughter of Adam John Scholder and Anna Catharine Rumboldt, on Wednesday, 20 February 1895 at Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.1
