Geraldine D. Regel was born on 18 August 1924 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2,3 She was the daughter of Frederick R. Regel and Sarah Blank.3 Geraldine D. Regel married, at age 17, Marlin D. Lilley, age 20, son of Oscar Franklin Lilley and Madeline Mildred Sholder, on Saturday, 14 February 1942.1,3 Geraldine D. Regel died on 25 June 2009 at Divine Providence Hospital, The Gatehouse, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 84 years, 10 months and 7 days.2,3 She was buried on 30 June 2009 in the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3
She was widowed at age 81 by the death of Marlin on 6 March 2006.1,4,3 Her obituary was published on 27 June 2009 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Geraldine D. Lilley, 84, a resident of Cogan Station, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at The Gatehouse. Gerry was born in Williamsport on Aug. 18, 1924 a daughter of Frederick R. and Sarah Blank Regel.
A homemaker, she was member of Ascension Catholic Church and The United States Postal Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards and watching the wildlife in her yard.
Her husband of 64 years, Marlin D. "Doc" Lilley Sr. died March 6, 2006.
Surviving are six children, Marlin D. Lilley Jr. of Cogan Station, William (Doris) Lilley of Woolrich, Carol (Randy) McDermit of Lock Haven, Janet (Judson) Bower of Cogan Station, Dorothy Hughes of Williamsport, Frederick (Kim) Lilley of Lakemont, Ga., 26 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, a brother, William Regel of South Williamsport and a sister, Florence Danneker of Williamsport.
In addition to her husband, two brothers, John and Paul Regel and a sister, Marion Vaughn preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ascension Catholic Church, 2100 Linn St., Williamsport. Friends and relatives may call at the church from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.
