Philip Harold Jacobus was born on 17 December 1913 at Turners Falls, Franklin County, Massachusetts.2,3,4,1 He was the son of Raymond Edmund Philip Jacobus and Brenna Marguerite Hanson.1,4 Philip Harold Jacobus married, at age 22, Ruth Doornbos, age 22 on Saturday, 25 July 1936 at Greenfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts.4 Philip Harold Jacobus died on 14 March 2004 at Bortz Health Care, Traverse City, Grand Traverse County, Michigan, at age 90 years, 2 months and 26 days.3,4
He appeared on the census of 7 January 1920 in the household of Raymond Edmund Philip Jacobus and Brenna Marguerite Hanson at Greenfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts. Philip Harold Jacobus appeared on the census of 10 April 1930 in the household of Casey M. Courson and Brenna Marguerite Hanson at Grandville, Kent County, Michigan. He became a widower at the age of 69 with the death of Ruth on 25 November 1983.4,5 His obituary was published on 16 March 2004 in the Petoskey News-Review, printed in Petoskey, Emmet County, Michigan. His obituary stated:
MCBAIN - Philip Harold Jacobus of Traverse City, formerly of McBain, died Sunday, March 14, 2004 at Bortz Health Care in Traverse City. He was 90.
He was born on Dec. 17, 1913 in Turners Falls, Mass. to Raymond and Marguerite (Hanson) Jacobus. He married Ruth Doornbos on July 25, 1936 in Greenfield, Mass. She preceded him in death on Nov. 25, 1983.
Mr. Jacobus lived in the Grandville and Conklin areas. He moved to McBain in 1972 after his retirement. The past few years he made his home in Traverse City.
He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and ice fishing.
Survivors include his son, Gary of Cathedral City, Calif. and special friend, Helen Roster of Traverse City.
No services will be held. Arrangements were made by Burkholder Funeral Home in McBain.4 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Philip's last known residence was Traverse City, Grand Traverse County, Michigan.3
