Sholder died on 13 March 1966 at Daytona Beach, Volusia County, Florida, at age 49 years, 4 months and 6 days.2,3 He was buried on 16 March 1966 in the Daytona Memorial Park, located in Daytona Beach, Volusia County, Florida.2

Mr. Sholder was the son of Roscoe S. and Verna Reeser Sholder.
Surviving are his wife, the former Cora Ann Green; two sons, Wayne and Keith; a daughter Carol Ann, and six grandchildren.
The funeral was in Daytona Beach on Wednesday.2
