Vera Betty Auguss was born on 10 April 1921.1,3 She was the daughter of Bernard Wilfred Auguss and Etta Scholder.1 Vera Betty Auguss married Arthur Janes, son of Michael Janes and Dora Rudo, circa 1943.1,2 Vera Betty Auguss died on 9 August 2004 at Riverton, Burlington County, New Jersey, at age 83 years, 3 months and 30 days.1,2,3 She was buried on 11 August 2004 in the Beth Israel Memorial Park, located in Woodbridge, Middlesex County, New Jersey.2
She appeared on the census of 17 April 1930 in the household of Bernard Wilfred Auguss and Etta Scholder at Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. She was widowed at age 57 by the death of Arthur in June 1978.4 Her obituary was published sometime in August 2004 in the local paper, printed in Elizabeth, Union County, New Jersey. Her obituary stated:

Mrs. Janes worked as a secretary for Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elizabeth, NJ for 20 years. She was active in B'nai B'rith, Meals On Wheels and was a Yeoman 2nd Class in the US Navy during World War II.
Relatives and friends are invited Wednesday, 9:45 a.m. to PLATT MEMORIAL CHAPELS, Inc., 2001 Berlin Rd., Cherry Hill where funeral services will begin promptly at 10:30 am. Interment Beth Israel Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed at the home of Edward and Jennifer Janes.2
