Emma W. Muchitsch was born on 13 January 1914 at Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John Muchitsch and Annie [—?—]. Emma W. Muchitsch married August S. Sholder, son of George S. Sholder and Julia Besel, circa 1932. Emma W. Muchitsch died on 22 June 2012 at age 98 years, 5 months and 9 days. She was buried in the Church Hill Cemetery, located in Wilkins Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
Her obituary was published on 27 June 2012 in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, printed in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Emma W. (Muchitsch) Sholder, 98, formerly of Chalfant and the Bessemer Senior Apartments in East Pittsburgh, most recently a resident at the Little Sisters of the Poor, died Friday, June 22, 2012.
She was the wife of the late August S. Sholder; dear mother of Kenneth (LoRaine) Sholder, of Kennedy Township, and August "Gus" (Judy) Sholder, of Chalfant; grandmother of Cherre Hensley, of North Carolina, Danielle Rodney, of North Versailles, and Nicole LaGorga, of Monroeville; and great-grandmother of Raven, Cameron and Brianna.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie Kita; and her brothers, Bob, Charles, Martin and Max Muchitsch.
Emma was an active woman all of her life. She had been a member of the Forest Hills Senior Citizens and volunteered with their Meals-on-Wheels program. Even while living at Little Sisters of the Poor, she participated in arts and crafts, bingo and the Chime Choir.
There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to a memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Ave., North Side. Arrangements by PATRICK T.
