Charles Darwin Newhouse was born on 10 January 1856 at Greencastle, Jasper County, Iowa.1 He was the son of Jonathan Newhouse and Mary Salina Dickey.1 Charles Darwin Newhouse first married, at age 22, Viola E. Gayle, age 18 on Sunday, 22 September 1878 at Greencastle, Jasper County, Iowa.1 Charles Darwin Newhouse married a second time Clara Belle Scholder, daughter of Edward F. Scholder and Emma A. McConnell, in 1897.1,2 Charles Darwin Newhouse died on 22 March 1936 at Boise, Ada County, Idaho, at age 80 years, 2 months and 12 days.1
