Leslie Truman Scholderer
M, (13 February 1963 - 13 February 1963)
- Relationship
- 10th great-grandson of Martin Scholderer
Leslie Truman Scholderer was born on 13 February 1963. He was the son of Gary Lee Scholderer and Darlene McKenzie. Leslie Truman Scholderer died on 13 February 1963 at Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio. He was buried in the Saint Joseph's Cemetery, located in Lockbourne, Franklin County, Ohio.
My sweet boy lived and died in an hour. He was born at 5 months and two weeks. Had he lived, he would have been blind, deaf and probably brain damaged. I prayed for his death. Lonely little boy had no one to grieve for him. I was 20 years old when he was born. I had an 18 month girl at home and a 21 year old husband who could not afford nor want his family. He was buried in doll clothes purchased by my friend, Helen Green. Only my friend attended his burial. I was in the hospital and Gary, who knows where.
My mother, Addie Wallar said I should name my little boy, Leslie Truman after Gary's Grandfather as his grandmother took care of my daughter and I after he was born. Although I believed our son was named Leslie Truman, I was sadly mistaken. I sent away for his birth certificate after starting the family tree. On the certificate was Infant Scholderer. I wrote in to have his given name added to the birth certificate. Now after 44 years with no name he has his rightful name. Gary had failed to give his name at the hospital for his original birth certificate.
I still hold my baby close to me in my heart and cry for the love that was not given. So young, so dumb. Now after all is said and done. I remember the love of my life and my sweet baby and hope that someday, we will begin again in a perfect world. I love you Gary and baby Leslie.
