Hester Scholder was born on 25 July 1926 at Hemet, Riverside County, California. She was the daughter of Alexander P. Scholder and Emma Grant. Hester Scholder married Earl Lent circa 1947.1 Hester Scholder died on 1 August 2009 at age 83 years and 7 days.

Hester Mae Scholder Lent

Rosary Mass was held at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 at Brune Mortuary Chapel in Bishop, and it was followed by visitation, for Hester Mae Scholder Lent. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bishop. Burial will be at the East Line Street Cemetery in Bishop.
Born July 25, 1926 in Hemet at the Soboba Hospital to Alec and Emma Scholder, Hester died Aug. 1, 2009.
She attended school in Los Angeles and graduated from Sherman Indian High School. She met and married Earl Lent and they were together for 54 years before he died.
Hester worked as the director of the Bishop Paiute Elders Nutrition Program for more than 15 years before she retired. She was also involved in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary and served as a member of the local Draft Board during the Vietnam war era.
Hester was an avid bowler and traveled with her husband Earl to many locations.
She loved the Owens Valley and liked to hunt, fish and camp with her family. Earl and Hester could be seen at many sporting events where they supported their children and grandchildren.
Hester was a member of the Pala Tribe in the San Diego area.
She will be greatly missed by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as she was the matriarch of her family.
"Hester loved us all and supported us in all of our adventures," the family said.
Hester was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, son, Earl; Jr; grandson, Steven Lent; and great-grandson, Earl Bryce Williams.
Hester is survived by her children and their spouses, Yvonne and Craig Deming, David and Darcia Lent, Joan and Rick Huff and Susan Lent, widow of Earl, Jr; grandchildren, John Franklin, Kristina Chandler, Will Falck, Toni Huff, Tara Huff, Earl Lent, Alexandria Lent, Jessie Lent, Ryan Lent, Marcella Lent, Jason Lent and Scott Boysen; and 11 great-grandchildren.
