     Paul Shafter Hafner was born on 27 May 1898.6,3,5 He married, at age 27, Dorothea Ann Wolf, age 22, daughter of William G. Wolf and Katharine M. Keller, on Wednesday, 29 July 1925 at Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.2,3,4 Paul Shafter Hafner died on 9 May 1975 at Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, at age 76 years, 11 months and 12 days.2,3,4,5 He was buried on 12 May 1975 in the Memorial Park Cemetery, located in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Marcus Buehrer.3
     Paul Shafter Hafner was employed by NCR between 1924 and 1962 as an assembler in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.3 Paul, the son-in-law of Katharine M. Keller, who died on 3 September 1958, was listed as the informant on the death certificate.7 Paul Shafter Hafner, deceased, formerly lived at 440 Dayton Towers Drive, Dayton, Ohio, as of April 1975.3 His obituary was published sometime in May 1975 in the local paper, printed in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. His obituary stated:

     HAFNER, Paul S., age 76 of 440 Dayton Towers Dr. passed away Friday morning at his residence. Prior to his retirement in 1962 he had been an assembler with NCR for 38 years. Survived by his wife Dorothea A. (Wolf); 2 sons, Donald W., St. Petersburg, Fla., William P., of Kettering; 5 grandchildren. He was a member of the Twenty Five Year Club at NCR, The Oak Creek United Church of Christ, The Young at Heart Group. Services 1 p.m. Monday, Luthman Funeral Home, 364 Xenia Av. Rev. Marcus Buehrer officiating. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Sunday. It is requested in lieu of flowers contributions be made to The Oak Creek Church Memorial Fund.3 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Paul's last known residence was Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.5

     The obituary for Dorothea Ann Wolf in April 1981 Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, listed Paul Shafter Hafner as her deceased husband.4
