Jody Lynn Sholder was born on 21 November 1965 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 She was the daughter of Donald Larue Sholder and Celain Marie Jows.1 Jody Lynn Sholder married, at age 20, Douglas Neil Packard, son of Leo Packard and Lucille Tice, in May 1986 at Calvary Baptist Church, Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 Jody Lynn Sholder died on 30 October 2000 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia, at age 34 years, 11 months and 9 days.1,2 She was buried on 6 November 2000 in the Forest Hill Cemetery, located in Union County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Pastor Bill Toothman, Reverend Bruce McBride and Reverend Dave Huckins.1

Jody Lynn Sholder Packard, 34, of Route 4, Grafton, a former area resident, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. She and her husband, Douglas Packard, were married for 14 years. She was a homemaker and a teacher at Emmanuel Christian School, Clarksburg, W. Va. She was a 1983 graduate of Jersey Shore High School and graduated from Baptist Bible College, Clarks Summit. She was a member of Galilean Baptist Church and a former member of First Baptist Church of Bellefonte, where she and her husband served as associate ministers for nine years.

Surviving, besides her husband, are her parents of New Columbia; two sons, Andrew and Austin; two daughters, Adria and Ariel; a brother, Shaun Sholder of Natchez, Miss; and a sister, Dawn Ailor of Winchester, Idaho. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ford's, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, W. Va., with the Revs. Douglas Packard, her husband; Bruce McBride, Dave Huckins, and Bill Toothman, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. A local memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Calvary Baptist Church, 315 Thompson St., Jersey Shore, with the Revs. Ron Berrus, Jeff Howell and Fred Milacci officiating. A committal service will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, north of Mifflinburg.1
