Alfred Gottfried Weisz1

     Alfred Gottfried Weisz was born on 1 July 1925 at Highmore, Hyde County, South Dakota.1 He was the son of Otto Weisz and Theresa Christina Bietz.1 Alfred Gottfried Weisz married, at age 31, Arleen M. [—?—] on Tuesday, 5 March 1957.1 Alfred Gottfried Weisz died on 19 January 1999 at Stockton, San Joaquin County, California, at age 73 years, 6 months and 18 days.1 He was buried in the Cherokee Memorial Park, located in Lodi, San Joaquin County, California.1
     His obituary was published sometime in January 1999 in the local paper, printed in California. His obituary stated:

     Alfred Gottfried WEISZ, 73 of Stockton died Tuesday in a hospital.

     Mr. Weisz was born in Highmore, SD, and lived in Stockton for 42 years.

     He was a candy man for Norman Confectionery. He retired after working for 21 years for Western Building Material.

     Mr. Weisz was a warehouse foreman. He was a member of Teamsters Union No. 439.

     Survivors: wife, Arleen Weisz of Stockton; children, Bonnie Gabaldon and Marjorie Zimmerman, both of Las Vegas, Glenda Boles of Colorado, and Betty Price, Dean Weisz and Jim Weisz, all of Stockton, Marsha Anderson of Lee Vining, Debra Fredricksen of Utah and Connie Rocha of Jackson; brother, Elmer Weisz of Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

     Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday, DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St. Visitation: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Committal: Cherokee Memorial Park.1
