     Elda Christina Schoppert was born on 7 June 1919 at Freeman, Hutchinson County, South Dakota.2 She was the daughter of Edward Schoppert and Louisa Mutschelknaus.2 Elda Christina Schoppert married, at age 25, Julius J. Vetter, age 34, son of Jacob Vetter and Lydia Friederich, on Monday, 21 May 1945 at Yankton, Yankton County, South Dakota.1,2 Elda Christina Schoppert died on 14 November 2007 at Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County, South Dakota, at age 88 years, 5 months and 7 days.2 She was buried in the Grace Hill Cemetery, located in Tripp, Hutchinson County, South Dakota.2
     Her obituary was published sometime in November 2007 in the The Parkston Advance, printed in Parkston, Hutchinson County, South Dakota. Her obituary stated:

     Funeral services for Elda C. Vetter were held Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at First American Lutheran Church, Tripp, with the Rev. Michael J. Jacobson officiating.

     Interment was made in the Gracehill Cemetery with Goglin Funeral Home, Tripp, in charge of the arrangements.

     Casketbearers were Paul Bauder, Dean Kommes, Garrett Kommes, Brad Tiede, Jamey Wermers and John Wermers.

     Elda Christina Vetter was born on Saturday, June 7, 1919, in Hutchinson County near Freeman. Her parents were Edward and Louise (Mutschelknaus) Schoppert. She attended high school in Freeman and Menno. She earned her Teacher's Certificate from Southern State Teachers College in Springfield. She taught rural school for seven years.

     She was united in marriage to Julius Vetter on May 21, 1945, in Yankton. They farmed together west of Tripp for over 30 years. They retired from farming in 1976, and moved into Tripp. She was a member of First American Lutheran Church and the Ladies' Aid, the Good Samaritan Auxiliary and the Bar None Extension Club.

     She died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls at the age of 88 years, five months, and seven days.

     She is survived by her three daughters, Elaine (Howard) Bauder, Scotland, Jean (Roger) Tiede, Chester, and Joan (Jim) Wermers, Colorado Springs, Colo; eight grandchildren, Paul Bauder, Sara Schott, David Bauder, Michele Kommes, Bradley Tiede, James Wermers, John Wermers and Anne Wermers; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Schoppert, Sioux Falls; and two sisters, Clara Larson, Freeman, and Elsie (Marvin) Nelles, Wausau, Wis.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius, on August 25, 1997; her parents, Edward and Louise Schoppert; one brother; and two sisters.2
