     Verna Viola Sholder was born on 1 December 1899 at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.6,3 She was the daughter of Harry Ellsworth Sholder and Clara Irene Bixler.7 Verna Viola Sholder was baptized, at age 14 years, 3 months and 7 days, on Sunday, 8 March 1914 at Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Bottle Run, Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.8 She married Ward Lorenzo Bennett, son of George Washington Bennett and Loretta Carrie Casselberry, circa 1918.2,4,5 Verna Viola Sholder died on 8 February 1991 at Williamsport Home, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 91 years, 2 months and 7 days.9,3 She was buried on 12 February 1991 in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.9
     She appeared on the census of 19 June 1900 in the household of Harry Ellsworth Sholder and Clara Irene Bixler at Armstrong Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Verna Viola Sholder appears in family photograph of Harry, Clara, Verna and Floyd Sholder circa 1915. She was a seamstress in 1948.

     Verna Viola was listed in Clara Irene Bixler's obituary on 30 June 1975 in the local paper, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, as her daughter.7 Her obituary was published sometime in February 1991 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

Mrs. Verna V. Bennett, 91, formerly of Williamsport RD #5, died at 10:25 p.m. Friday, Febuary 8, 1991, in Williamsport Home, where she had lived for about one year.

Her husband, Ward L. Bennett, died on Febuary 1, 1936.

Mrs. Bennett was employed at the Avco plant during World War II. After the war, she was employed by several area sewing factories.

She was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church, Williamsport RD #5.

Born on December 1, 1899, in this city, she was the daughter of Harry and C. Irene Bixler Sholder.

Surviving are a son, Ward R., of Montoursville RD #5; six daughters, Mrs. Geraldine G. Schauer, of Linden RD 2, Mrs. Margaret C. Wurster, of this city, and Mrs. June E. Schauer, Mrs. AnnaBelle B. Kinley, Mrs. Jean L. Wonderlich and Mrs. Shirley J. Welty, all of Williamsport RD #5; 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Knight-Confer's 1914 Memorial Avenue, with the Rev. Raymond G. Baker, former pastor of The Gospel Church, Muncy, officiating. Burial will be in the Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 until 10 a.m. Tuesday.
According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Verna's last known residence was Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3
