Johanna Christina Pfäfflin was born on 20 February 1821 at Rosenfeld, Oberamt Sulz, Schwarzwaldkreis, Württemberg.4,5,6,7 She was the daughter of Carl Friedrich August Pfäfflin and Anna Maria Dannacker.8 Johanna Christina Pfäfflin married, at age 24, Johann Jacob Scholderer, age 30, son of Johannes Scholderer and Maria Barbara Müller, on Tuesday, 3 June 1845 at Rosenfeld, Oberamt Sulz, Schwarzwaldkreis, Württemberg.4,5,9,10 Johanna Christina Pfäfflin died on 22 October 1889 at Hunter, Greene County, New York, at age 68 years, 8 months and 2 days.5 She was buried Hunter, Greene County, New York.5
Johanna Christina Pfäfflin was also known as Hannah.5,11 She and Johann Jacob Scholderer immigrated circa July 1854 to United States of America on the ship Rattler. The voyage across the ocean ended in the District of New York – Port of New York. The following passage has been transcribed by by Meg Sibbernsen for the Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild on 23 February 1999. "I, Rich Brown, do solemnly, sincerely and truly Swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Ship Rattler whereof I am Master, from Havre sworn on this, 2 Sept. 1854 so help me God. (signed) H ?bumy (signed) Rich Brown." Included on this passenger list starting with line 30 through 35 are: Scholderer, Jacob age 40, sex M, occupation farmer; Scholderer, Johanne age 34, sex F; Scholderer, Maria age 7, sex F; Scholderer, Eleanore age 5, sex F; Scholderer, Johannes age 3 sex M, listed as died on the voyage; Scholderer, Louise age 3 months, sex F.12,13,1
She was enumerated on 24 July 1860 as a resident in the household of Johann Jacob Scholderer in the Eighth Census for the United States of America, in the State of New York, Greene County, Hunter as "Hannah Shoulderer" age 30 being born in Witenburgh.14 Johanna Christina Pfäfflin and Johann Jacob Scholderer appeared on the census of 19 August 1870 at Hunter, Greene County, New York. Johanna Christina Pfäfflin and Johann Jacob Scholderer appeared on the census of 4 June 1880 at Hunter, Greene County, New York.
