     Carl Dean Kurtz was born on 7 August 1929 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.4,3 He was the son of Harry Leroy Kurtz and Irene Maud Farber.5,3 Carl Dean Kurtz married Lois Mahala Kelley, daughter of Morgan Vernon Kelley and Eleanor Margaret Sholder, circa 1954.3 Carl Dean Kurtz died on 18 March 2013 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 83 years, 7 months and 11 days.3
     He appeared on the census of 30 April 1930 in the household of Harry Leroy Kurtz and Irene Maud Farber at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Carl Dean Kurtz appeared on the census of 26 April 1940 in the household of Harry Leroy Kurtz and Irene Maud Farber at Old Lycoming Township, Garden View, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. As of 9 December 2002, Carl Dean Kurtz lived at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.6

     The obituary dated on 10 December 2002 for Kenneth L. Kurtz from in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, listed Carl Dean Kurtz as his brother.6 His obituary was published on 19 March 2013 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Carl D. Kurtz, 83, of Williamsport, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at his home.

     Born Aug. 7, 1929, in Williamsport, he was a son of Harry L. and Irene (Farver) Kurtz. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois M. (Kelley) Kurtz in 1995.

     He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Carl loved the outdoors, fishing, playing cards (especially setback) and was a member of the VFW 844, Republican League, Polish Club, 40&8 and many others.

     Surviving are two children, Janet L. Kurtz (Jim) of DuBoistown and Chuck V. Kurtz of Williamsport; three grandchildren, Justin, Jessica and Kristie; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Hunter; and a sister, Marlene Hill of Williamsport.

     In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.

     Memorial contributions if so desired may be made to his family to assist with funeral expenses.3
