He and Eugene Maurer emigrated between 1925 and 1926 from Germany They most likely came to Dayton, Ohio, since they had relatives there. Karl Heinrich Maurer appeared on the census of 3 April 1930 in the household of Elizabeth Marie Keller at Dayton, 10th Ward, Montgomery County, Ohio. Karl Heinrich Maurer began military service on 12 August 1942 at Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, as a private for the branch immaterial - warrant officers.3 He was a printing machine operator circa 1955.2 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Karl's last known residence was Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.4
