     Charles F. Scholder was born on 23 April 1870 at Rochester, Fulton County, Indiana.1,3 He was the son of Adam John Scholder and Anna Catharine Rumboldt.1,3 Charles F. Scholder married, at age 21, Eldora Snyder, age 21, daughter of Michael Snyder and Emily Elizabeth Hoffman, on Saturday, 12 March 1892 at Rochester, Fulton County, Indiana.4,2,3,5 Charles F. Scholder and Eldora Snyder have also been reported to have been married 17 March 1892.1,3 Charles F. Scholder died on 25 April 1952 at Rochester, Fulton County, Indiana, at age 82 years and 2 days.1,3 He was buried in section 2, row 1, in the Rochester Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, located in Rochester, Fulton County, Indiana.1,3
     Charles F. Scholder also went by the name of Chewey.1,3 He appeared on the census of 4 June 1880 in the household of Anna Catharine Rumboldt at Rochester, Fulton County, Indiana. Charles F. Scholder and Eldora Snyder appeared on the census of 8 June 1900 at Rochester, Fulton County, Indiana. Charles F. Scholder and Eldora Snyder appeared on the census of 15 April 1910 at Rochester, 2nd Ward, Fulton County, Indiana. His obituary was published on 26 April 1952 in the The Rochester News-Sentinel, printed in Rochester, Fulton County, Indiana. His obituary stated:

     Death came at 7:15 Friday evening to claim Charles F. "Chewey" SCHOLDER, 82, at his home, 122 W. Eighth street, after an illness of two years, which culminated in a heart attack which occurred last Tuesday.

     The deceased was by occupation a cigar maker, a trade which flourished in Rochester for several years around the turn of the century. In later years he served as custodian of the Rochester Public library until failing health forced his retirement.

     Born in Rochester April 23, 1870, he was the son of Adam and Catherine (RUMBOLDT) SCHOLDER. The 60th anniversary of his marriage to Dora SNYDER in this city March 17, 1892, was observed at the Scholder home this spring.

     Mr. Scholder was a member of the Rochester Lutheran church. During his active years he held sustained interest in civic, political and fraternal matters in this community.

     Surviving is the wife. A son, Harry, preceded him.

     The body rests at the Zimmerman Bros. funeral home where services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday. Burial will be in Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery.1,3
