     William Jacobus was born in October 1858 at Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Phillip Jacobus and Agnes Sauter.1,2 William Jacobus married Caroline M. [—?—] circa 1890.1,2
     William Jacobus appeared on the census of 20 July 1870 in the household of Phillip Jacobus and Agnes Sauter at Greenfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts. The following article about William was published on 17 August 1874 in the The Greenfield Gazette and Courier, printed in Greenfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts. This article stated:

     Christian Sauter, William Jacobus, Silas Harris, Henry Young and John Murphy, lads arrested at Turners Falls for playing baseball on the Lord's Day, were brought before Judge Conant, on Sat. and pleaded guilty. Case continued for sentence until the 20th, to allow the agent of the State Charities to be present, as stated by law.1 He appeared on the census of 3 June 1880 in the household of Phillip Jacobus and Agnes Sauter at Montague, Franklin County, Massachusetts. William Jacobus and Caroline M. [—?—] appeared on the census of 4 June 1900 at Montague, Franklin County, Massachusetts. William Jacobus and Caroline M. [—?—] appeared on the census of 21 April 1910 at Easthampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. William Jacobus and Caroline M. [—?—] appeared on the census of 7 January 1920 at Easthampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. William Jacobus and Caroline M. [—?—] had no known children.2
