     James Jessie Dooris was born on 25 March 1920 at Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of George A. Dooris and Theresa I. Smith.1 James Jessie Dooris married, at age 22, Betty Jane Bartlett, age 20, daughter of Floyd Howard Bartlett and Eva V. Payne, on Wednesday, 18 November 1942.1,3 James Jessie Dooris died on 17 March 2001 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 80 years, 11 months and 20 days.1,2,3 He was buried on 20 March 2001 in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Thomas P. Shobach.1
     James Jessie Dooris was truck driver for the C. A. Reed Company.1 As of 2000, James Jessie Dooris and Betty Jane Bartlett lived at 1101 Spruce Street, Montoursville, Pennsylvania.1 His obituary was published on 18 March 2001 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     James J. Dooris, 80, of 1101 Spruce Street, Montoursville died March 17, 2001, at the Williamsport Hospital. He was born March 25, 1920, in Wilkes-Barre the son of George A. and Theresa Smith Dooris, Sr.

     Mr. Dooris and his wife, the former Betty J. Bartlett, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary November 18, 2000. Retiring after 41 years he was a truck driver for the former C.A. Reed Company. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Eugene Grafius American Legion Post #104, the Young Men s Democratic Club, and the Greater Williamsport Notre Dame Club.

     Surviving besides his wife are two sons, James F. of Cary, N.C. and Donald of Montoursville; one brother, George A., Jr. of Williamsport; one sister, Edith Tuxford of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren and seven great, grandchildren.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 100 Walnut Street, Montoursville with his priest, Rev. Thomas P. Shobach officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetary, Williamsport. Friends may call Monday 7-9 p.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 8 p.m. Monday.1
According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index James's last known residence was Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2

     Betty Jane Bartlett's obituary on 25 October 2006 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, stated that James Jessie Dooris was her husband and preceeded her in death.3
