     Norman E. Kelchner was born on 9 August 1931 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of William Roy Kelchner and Della May Sholder.1 Norman E. Kelchner married, at age 24, Mary Louise Alter, age 18, daughter of Edwin L. Alter and Margaret L. Powell, on Monday, 30 July 1956.1,4 Norman E. Kelchner died on 6 October 1998 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 67 years, 1 month and 27 days.1,2,4 He was buried on 8 October 1998 in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Harlan Frank Showers.1
     Norman E. Kelchner was owned and operated Kelchner's Cleaning Service between 1959 and 1994.1 As of 1996, Norman E. Kelchner and Mary Louise Alter lived at 1123 Park Avenue, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.1 His obituary was published on 7 October 1998 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Norman E. Kelchner, 67, of 1123 Park Ave. died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, at Williamsport Hospital.

     He and his wife, the former Mary L. Alter, observed their 42nd wedding anniversary July 30.

     Retiring in 1994, he had owned and operated Kelchner's Cleaning Service for 35 years. He was a member of Church of the Savior, Lutheran. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

     Born Aug. 9, 1931, in this city, he was a son of William R. and Della Mae Sholder Kelchner.

     Surviving besides his wife, are four sons, Norman E. Jr. of Muncy RR, Steven S. and Thomas A., both of South Williamsport, David M. of this city; a daughter, Melissa S. of this city; a brother, William R. of this city; a granddaughter, Emily.

     A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Wildwood Cemetery with the Rev. Harlan Frank Showers, his pastor, officiating. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Maneval's, 500 W. Fourth St.1
According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Norman's last known residence was Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2
