Merle Evadna Sholder was born on 18 July 1921 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Merrill Davidson Sholder and Cora Edna Williamson. Merle Evadna Sholder married, at age 24, Frederick Robert Blackman Jr., son of Frederick Robert Blackman and Caroline [—?—], on Saturday, 15 June 1946 at Voorheesville, Albany County, New York. Merle Evadna Sholder died on 17 January 2003 at Palm Bay, Brevard County, Florida, at age 81 years, 5 months and 30 days.1 She was buried on 21 January 2003 in the Fountainhead Memorial Park, located in Palm Bay, Brevard County, Florida.
She appeared on the census of 14 April 1930 in the household of Merrill Davidson Sholder and Cora Edna Williamson at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Merle Evadna Blackman who God, in His Sovereign will, called from this Life early Friday morning, January 17, 2003, was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on July 18, 1921. She and her brother Clay were the children of Merrill and Cora Edna Sholder, all who have preceded her in death.
On June 15, 1946, Merle married Frederick R. Blackman, who survives her. The couple have four children: Frederick R. Blackman III of Palm Bay, Florida; Sharon E. Youmans, East Greenbush, New York; Merrill S. Blackman, West Point New York; and James R. Blackman, Gainesville, Virginia.
Fred and Merle moved to Palm Bay in May 1983 where they have lived since, and were faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Merle is also survived by six Grandchildren and five Great-grandchildren, the members of Christ United Methodist Church and a host of friends whom she loved.
