Jacob Sholder1

     Jacob Sholder was born on 29 June 1922 at Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of Louis Sholder and Tillie [—?—]. Jacob Sholder married Simone Chapnik circa 1946.2 Jacob Sholder died on 31 July 2000 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Melrose, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 78 years, 1 month and 2 days.2,1 He was buried on 3 August 2000 in the Achim Cemetery, located in Melrose, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.2
     His obituary was published on 2 August 2000 in the Boston Herald, printed in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. His obituary stated:

     Jacob Sholder of Malden, a retired store owner, died yesterday morning of heart failure at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. He was 78.

     Born in Malden, Mr. Sholder served in the Army Air Forces with the 323rd and 453rd bomber squadrons during World War II. He served three years in the Massachusetts Air National Guard.

     Mr. Sholder operated "Krazy Jack's" Discount store in the Massachusetts Merchandise Mart in Lynn for 20 years. He was a past Malden city councilor and an aide-de-camp of former Gov. Foster Furcolo. He also worked at Bunker Hill Meatland. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 639 of Malden, the Alderman Club and Congregation Agudas Achim in Malden. He also established the Black Barons Drum & Bugle Corps of Malden and volunteered for Middlesex Community Services.

     Husband of the late Simone (Chapnik), Mr. Sholder is survived by a daughter, Maxine LoDuca of Malden; a son, Charles of Alaska; a sister, Sylvia Freeman of Sunrise, Fla; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

     A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Goldman-Fisher Funeral Chapel, Malden. Burial will be in Agudas Achim Cemetery, Melrose.2
According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Jacob's last known residence was Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1
