     Nelson Richard Sholder was born on 15 January 1898 at farm of Christian (Scholderer) Sholder, Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,5,4 He was the son of Frederick Sholder and Matilda Helen Miller.1,3 Nelson Richard Sholder first married, at age 23, Meredith Kunes, age 21, daughter of Melvil Kunes and Mabel Gardner, on Wednesday, 15 June 1921 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,6 Nelson Richard Sholder married a second time, at age 58, Ruth Arlene Sewalt, age 48, daughter of John W. Sewalt and Hattie J. Fry, on Saturday, 4 August 1956 at Presbyterian Parsonage, Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. Nelson Richard Sholder died on 5 August 1984 at Avis, Pine Creek Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania, at age 86 years, 6 months and 21 days.4,5 He was buried on 8 August 1984 in the Saint Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery, located in Collomsville, Limestone Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Donald G. Nice.4
