     John Henry Miller Jr. was born on 4 January 1930 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of John Henry Miller and Bernadine K. Zettlemoyer.3 John Henry Miller Jr. married, at age 21, Beverly A. Roller, age 20, daughter of Thomas Harris Roller and Pearl M. Pasnault, on Saturday, 6 October 1951 at Saint Paul's Calvary Church, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend Paul S. Wheelock.1,2,3 John Henry Miller Jr. died on 19 August 2014 at Williamsport Home, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 84 years, 7 months and 15 days.3,2 He was buried on 25 August 2014 in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Jennett Wertz.3
     John Henry Miller Jr. graduated in 1947 from Williamsport High School, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3 Since 1952, John Henry Miller Jr. and Beverly A. Roller have lived at 1415 High Street, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.4 John Henry Miller Jr. was in military service with the United States Air Force.3 The anniversary announcement for John Henry Miller Jr. and Beverly A. Roller was published on 14 October 2007 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. This announcement stated:

     Mr. and Mrs. John H. Miller Jr., Williamsport, observed their 56th wedding anniversary Oct. 6, 2007. They were married by the Rev. Whitlock at St. Paul Calvary Church, where they are members.

     Mrs. Miller, the former Beverly Roller, is the daughter of the late Pearl and Harris Roller. She graduated from Williamsport High School and played the French horn in the Uncle Osborne Housel's Band. She retired in 1995 from Bell Tele-AT&T after 25 years of employment.

     Mr. Miller, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Bernadine and John Miller. He graduated from Williamsport High School and the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, N.Y. He served in the Air Force and was employed by Highway Express Maislin Transport. He also was the director of the Starlighters Orchestra for 20 years.

They are the parents of a daughter, Sharlene Clapper and a son, Sgt. David D. There are seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In honor of their anniversary, a family dinner will be held at Country Cupboard, Lewisburg, with family.
His obituary was published on 20 August 2014 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     John Henry Miller Jr., 84, of Williamsport, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at the Williamsport Home, Ravine Ridge.

     Born Jan. 4, 1930, in Williamsport, he was a son of John H. Sr. and Bernadine (Zettlemoyer Myers) Miller.

     John married the former Beverly Roller and would have celebrated 63 years together Oct. 6.

     John was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

     He graduated from Williamsport High School, Class of 1947 and attended the Eastman School of Music, Lycoming College and North Carolina State.

     John was a member of St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

     He was a Teamsters member for 30 years, a 32 Degree Mason and a lifetime member of Lodge 397, a member of Williamsport Consistory, and a former member of the Zafar Grotto.

     He was leader of his own orchestra, Johnny Miller and The Starlighters and played in many others.

     John enjoyed collecting stamps and was an avid baseball fan, especially the Crosscutters. He coached Original Little League for 12 years and was statistician for 30 years.

     Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Sharlene Clapper (Jack), of Williamsport, David Miller (Rose), of Lock Haven and Anne Bennett (Lester), of Linden; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, William R. Miller.

     A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church, 1427 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, with Pastor Jennett Wertz officiating. Burial will be held at Wildwood Cemetery.3
