Donnie or "The Professor" as referred to by family and friends drifted peacefully into eternal life in Cogan Station on March 6, 2015. He was hand in hand with his sisters as he passed.

Don was born April 30, 1948, in Williamsport to Mary Calkins Klees and the late Dr. Harry W. Klees. He graduated from Lewisburg Area High School in 1966. He continued his education at Mansfield University and received his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Wesleyan College and his master’s degree in Education from Lehigh University.

At the time of his death, Donnie was employed as a Human Services Representative for the Department of Human Services in Philadelphia. He formerly resided in Southampton, Pa. His life work centered on those that needed assistance. He was previously employed as Director of Children and Youth and the Area on Aging.

Donnie was a founding member of Mansfield University’s Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. He enjoyed returning for the Annual Golf Outing. An avid football fan, he had a great passion for Penn State. He loved to golf, play pool, cards and canoeing trips. He was full of life with a love for family, friends and co-workers.

His care and compassion for others was his trademark. Even when he was ill, he was more concerned about how you were doing. Donnie may have entered an establishment as a stranger but by the time he left he was your friend. When he saw you, he would always extend his hand and offer a warm greeting.
