     Josephine Carrie Oehrli was born on 12 July 1906.2,1 She was the daughter of Fred Oehrli and Sallie Pierce.2 Josephine Carrie Oehrli married Donald M. Calkins, son of John Agustus Calkins and Mary Christina Stahl, in 1924.2,3 Josephine Carrie Oehrli died on 24 February 2006 at Valley View Nursing Center, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 99 years, 7 months and 12 days.2,1 She was buried in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Charles P. Johnson.2
     Josephine Carrie Oehrli also went by the name of Jo.2 She appeared on the census of 21 April 1910 in the household of Fred Oehrli and Sallie Pierce at South Williamsport, 2nd Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Josephine Carrie Oehrli appeared on the census of 23 January 1920 in the household of John Agustus Calkins and Mary Christina Stahl at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Josephine Carrie Oehrli and Donald M. Calkins appeared on the census of 5 April 1930 at Williamsport, 5th Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She was widowed at age 60 by the death of Donald on 26 April 1967.2,4 As of 1995, Josephine Carrie Oehrli lived at 124 Brandon Place, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.2 Her obituary was published on 26 February 2006 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

     Josephine M. (Jo) Calkins, 99, formerly of Brandon Place, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at Valley View Nursing Center.

     Her husband, Donald M. Calkins, died on April 26, 1967.

     Jo was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, shopping and eating out with her family and friends. She had worked at the former L. L. Stearns & Son Department Store as a manager of the hosiery department, with 18 years of service.

     Born July 12, 1906, in South Williamsport, she was the daughter of Fred and Sallie Pierce Oehrli.

     Surviving are a daughter, Mary E. Klees, and her husband, Dr. Harry W. Klees of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Donald T. Klees of Williamsport, Sandra E. (Klees) Hanzel of Philadelphia and Jamie A. (Klees) Hoffa of Cogan Station; great-grandchildren, Brett E. Klees and Stanley C. Hanzel V, both of Alexandria, Va., Tisha E. (Hanzel) Gara and son Jody Gara Jr. of Dayton, Ohio, and Ashley A. Hanzel of Philadelphia; and step-great-grandchildren, Jetta Berrigan of Williamsport and Taylor Hoffa of Cogan Station.

     Jo was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.

     A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Rev. Charles P. Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

     The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions made to North Central Sight Services, 901 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701, for their constant help, loving assistance and thoughtful care.2
According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Josephine's last known residence was Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
