     Phillip Clyde Bower was born on 10 April 1912.3,4 He was the son of George J. Bower and Laura E. Kinley.1 Phillip Clyde Bower married, at age 34, Grace Minerva Weigle, age 26, daughter of Judson Fulmore Weigle and Annie Marina Sholder, on Tuesday, 2 July 1946.1,2 Phillip Clyde Bower died on 30 March 1994 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 81 years, 11 months and 20 days.4,2 He was buried on 2 April 1994 in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3
     He was a farmer between 1935 and 1980. He and Grace Minerva Weigle never had any children.1 His obituary was published sometime in 1994 in the local paper, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     He joined the Military on June 17, 1942 as a Military Policeman on Foreign Service. Honorably discharged from the United States Army, Private Philip Clyde Bower, of Williamsport, RD 2, son of Mrs. Laura Bower and the late George J. Bower, is visiting his sister, Mrs. Daniel Robinson, who resides in South Williamsport. Pvt. Bower saw action in the South Pacific area, serving with the infantry and motored police for 18 months, and received his discharge after suffering an attack of malaria. He trained at Fort McClellen, AL and Camp Stonehan, CA before going overseas on September 1, 1942. He had also been employed by Cromar Flooring and then retired from Stone Container Corporation. He was a member of Howard W. Kahler Post 844, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a life member of the Old Lycoming Volunteer Fire Company as well as being a member of the Pine Street United Methodist Church.
