     Rebecca Ann Calkins was born on 19 August 1942 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Edgar Raymond Calkins and Vonda VanAtta.1,2 Rebecca Ann Calkins married, at age 23, Donald Jared Mecum, age 35, son of Jared P. Mecum and Hazel S. Fox, on Saturday, 4 June 1966.1,2,4 Rebecca Ann Calkins died on 18 June 2003 at 352 McIntyre Way Road, Cogan Station, Pennsylvania, at age 60 years, 9 months and 30 days.2,3 She was buried on 23 June 2003 in the Trout Run Cemetery, located in Lewis Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Craig Schaefer.2
     Rebecca Ann Calkins also went by the name of Becky.5 As of 1995, Rebecca Ann Calkins and Donald Jared Mecum lived at Cogan Station, Pennsylvania.1 Her obituary was published on 20 June 2003 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

     Rebecca A. Mecum, 60, of 352 McIntyre Way Road, Cogan Station, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at her home. She and her husband, Donald J. Sr. observed their 37th wedding anniversary on June 4.

     She was a veteran of the Air Force, a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, and enjoyed playing bingo.

     She worked in the shipping department of Thermacore Overhead Doors, with 18 years of service.

     Born Aug. 19, 1942, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Edgar and Vonda Calkins.

     Surviving besides her husband are a son, Donald J. Jr. of Jersey Shore; daughters Donna Rae Kriner of Montoursville, Shelly (Sam) Harlan of Cogan Station, Susan Taylor of Jersey Shore and Jackie Brookens of Lock Haven; brothers Edgar Calkins of Louisiana, John Calkins of New Jersey, and Floyd and Joe Calkins of Nevada; sisters, Linda Sapp of Florida and Irma Hines of Cogan Station; and grandchildren Bryon and Renee Kriner, Ashley and Rachael Taylor, Kyle Kline, Kera and Carissa Mecum, and Megan, Dyllan and Hailey Brookens.

     She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Calkins, and a sister, Diane Hall.

     Funeral services will be Monday, 11 a.m., at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Rev. Craig A. Schaefer, pastor of Williamsport Assembly of God Church, officiating. Visitation on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Trout Run Cemetery.2
